FAQ
OEM & ODM Program — Common Questions
OEM branding uses an existing product platform with your approved branding, packaging and selected software requirements. It starts from 500 units and typically follows a 30–45 day development timeline. ODM development covers deeper custom hardware and software work, starts from 1,000 units and typically follows a 90–120 day timeline.
Standard supply starts from 200 units. OEM branding on existing products starts from 500 units, and ODM development with custom hardware starts from 1,000 units. NDA terms and sample availability are confirmed for the selected product before production planning.
OEM branding typically takes 30–45 days from scope confirmation to production readiness. ODM development with custom hardware and software typically takes 90–120 days. Documentation and certification requirements are reviewed by product and market as part of the project scope.
OEM simple customization starts from 500 units and can include logo application, packaging, selected firmware language and app-branding requirements. Typical development is 30–45 days. The available scope and documentation are confirmed by model and market before quotation.
OEM products can be certified for CE (Europe), FCC (USA), UKCA (UK), SASO and CST (Saudi Arabia), TDRA (UAE), RoHS, IP65/IP67, and EN 12209 Grade 3 mechanical performance. CE and FCC are included in the standard OEM package. SASO, TDRA, and other regional certifications are quoted separately. Full Declaration of Conformity and accredited lab test reports are provided under your brand name. EAC (Russia/CIS) and BIS (India) available on request.
In standard ODM, Trudian retains IP ownership of the hardware design, mechanical tooling, and base firmware. You own your brand, packaging design, and app branding. In full OEM with custom hardware specifications and tooling paid by the buyer, the buyer owns the industrial design and tooling. IP ownership terms are documented in the OEM agreement before production begins. Territory exclusivity clauses can prevent the factory from supplying identical products to named competitors in your market. Firmware source code escrow is available for full OEM arrangements.
All OEM production undergoes: incoming component inspection, in-process QC at assembly milestones, 100% functional testing before packaging (every unit tested for all credential types, connectivity, and mechanical operation), and AQL Level II final inspection (0% critical defect tolerance, 0.4% major defect AQL). ISO 9001:2015 quality management system covers all production processes. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek is available at buyer's request before shipment. Inspection reports and photos provided with every bulk shipment.
