Semiconductor (capacitive) sensors read electrical ridge/valley differences and require a live finger — they cannot be defeated by a photo or gelatin mold. Optical sensors use reflected light and are vulnerable to high-resolution print attacks. All Trudian fingerprint locks use semiconductor sensors, making them suitable for B2B security applications where spoofing resistance is required. Semiconductor sensors also perform better in wet and dry conditions than optical sensors.
100 fingerprint records (up to 3 fingerprints per user), plus 50 PIN codes and 50 RFID cards — all stored on-device with no cloud required for local access. For deployments requiring 200+ users, the hotel RFID lock (M1-B, 500 users) or cloud-connected access control system offers larger capacity. Biometric templates are stored on-device only and cannot be extracted or transmitted remotely, supporting GDPR data minimization requirements for European deployments.
Approximately 12 months on 4x AA alkaline batteries at 8–15 daily operations. Low-battery alert sent via app and LED indicator at 20% remaining capacity. Emergency 9V external contact on the door exterior allows temporary power from a 9V battery block if internal batteries are fully depleted. Lithium AA batteries extend life to approximately 18 months in cold climates (below 0°C) where alkaline battery capacity degrades significantly.
Yes. CE RED (2014/53/EU) for Bluetooth radio, CE LVD (2014/35/EU) for electrical safety, EN 12209:2016 Grade 3 for mechanical performance (200,000 cycles, anti-drill class 2, corrosion resistance class 4), and RoHS 3 (2011/65/EU) for hazardous substances. Full Declaration of Conformity and accredited lab test reports are included with B2B orders. An editable DoC template is provided for EU importers who become the legal EU manufacturer under CE directives when applying their own brand.
Yes, via two integration paths. Tuya IoT API: cloud-based access management via Tuya platform, supporting remote user management, access log sync, and OTA firmware updates. Wiegand 26/34 output (F2-B-W variant): hardware integration with standard access control panels including HID, Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Honeywell, and Bosch — the lock presents a Wiegand credential to the panel on each fingerprint verification. For OSDP v2 integration with encrypted reader-to-controller communication, contact our technical team for availability.
The F2-B supports GDPR-compliant deployment through on-device biometric template storage (templates never transmitted to cloud by default), individual user deletion API (templates can be deleted per user on demand for data subject erasure requests), non-biometric fallback credentials (PIN and RFID card) that must be offered as alternatives under GDPR Article 9 workplace access requirements, and access log export in CSV format for data subject access requests. For European workplace deployments, complete a DPIA and Legitimate Interest Assessment before deploying biometric access control — consent alone is not a valid legal basis for employee biometric processing in most EU member states.
OEM options for the F2-B: logo laser engraving or pad printing on the lock body (MOQ 200 units), custom packaging with your brand name and product information (MOQ 200 units), white-label Tuya OEM app with your brand name and icon in App Store and Google Play (MOQ 200 units, 6–10 week timeline), custom housing color (MOQ 500 units, additional tooling cost), and custom firmware with your cloud endpoint instead of Tuya cloud (MOQ 500 units, 8–12 week development). CE re-certification under your brand name is supported using our existing test reports as technical basis, with full documentation provided for your EU Declaration of Conformity.
