Short answer: Photograph the entrance panel, indoor unit, riser and door-release wiring; record cable type, distance, power supply and apartment count; then compare those inputs with the selected 2-wire system limits.
Collect these inputs
- Number of entrances, apartments and indoor stations.
- Existing cable pairs, approximate distance and riser topology.
- Door lock, exit button, power supply and release voltage.
- Required video, audio, call, mobile and access-control workflows.
Do not assume
“2-wire” is not a universal connector standard. Different systems can use different signalling, power budgets, termination rules and indoor-unit compatibility. Confirm the named model and revision, not only the product family.
Commissioning checkpoint
Require a pilot on the longest or most constrained riser before full rollout. Test call quality, door release, simultaneous calls, power recovery and handover documentation.
