Smart access projects for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific
Scope the destination, buyer role, building type and installation environment before selecting a model. The review covers the selected Trudian hardware and software version, power and network context, importer obligations and documentation needed for the stated project.
Routes for Oceania buyers
State the country, procurement role and project boundary. That allows the product, installation and documentation workstreams to be separated before a quotation is prepared.
Distributors & Dealers
Define the stocked range, destination countries, local technical support, warranty process and reorder model before the first shipment.
System Integrators
Review door count, controller topology, power source, network owner, existing platform interfaces and the acceptance criteria for handover.
Property & Project Teams
Set the strata or tenancy use case, user workflow, phased rollout plan, commissioning owner and body-corporate administration handover.
Three lines to scope by site brief
The installation context — entrance layout, door preparation, power, network, credential method and user workflow — determines the product configuration to review, not the country alone.
Video Intercom Systems
Door stations, indoor monitors and retrofit or MDU topologies assessed against site wiring, entrance design and resident call workflow.
Smart Locks
Residential, serviced-apartment and strata-managed access assessed by door preparation, credential method, user enrolment and daily administration model.
Access Control
Office, community and multi-door sites reviewed for controller architecture, power arrangement, network ownership and existing-system interfaces.
Oceania routes differ by destination, building code and channel
Do not treat Australia and New Zealand as a single route. Building codes, power supply standards, privacy obligations and installer licensing vary by country and by the selected product type.
Australia — metropolitan sites
Confirm the NCC/BCA entry that applies, strata or freehold ownership, power at the door station, network owner and whether the body corporate or property manager holds commissioning responsibility.
Australia — remote & off-grid
Identify the power source and backup arrangement before reviewing any networked model. Confirm connectivity method, offline-mode requirements and the installer's service radius for maintenance.
New Zealand
Set the NZ Building Code compliance route, import declaration party, GST and customs obligations, and whether the installer or integrator owns technical support after handover.
Pacific Islands
Confirm the importing country, local power standards, connectivity method, the freight and customs route, and the party responsible for on-site installation and after-sales support.
Resolve compliance and privacy requirements early
Connected access equipment can create separate product, data and importer workstreams. Assess the selected SKU, its functions, deployment model and destination before requesting a document package.
AS/NZS electrical & EMC
Electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility are assessed per SKU, power classification, radio functions and intended use. Confirm the applicable AS/NZS standards for the selected model and installation context.
Privacy Act — Australia & NZ
Where a deployment processes video footage, access logs or biometric data, identify the entity acting as the data controller, define retention policy, storage location and site-level privacy assessment obligations.
Strata & tenancy obligations
Body-corporate rules, tenancy agreements and common-area access rights can affect credential design, lock-out procedures and data access. Confirm these with the property manager before commissioning.
These checkpoints do not constitute a market approval. Evidence is reviewed against the SKU, hardware and software version, destination and deployment model.
Confirm documentation by SKU and destination
Provide the destination, selected hardware and software version, intended use and required evidence. The inquiry can then be reviewed against the applicable importer, radio, label, privacy and conformity workstreams.
Information needed before quotation
Send these four inputs so the proposed product, document route and project boundary can be reviewed before pricing is issued.
Include the SKU, destination country and any requested document so the first response can address the correct route. Standard MOQ starts at 200 units, OEM at 500 and ODM at 1,000.
Questions to settle before quotation
The RCM (Regulatory Compliance Mark) requirement is assessed per product category, power classification and radio functions. It is not determined by the region alone. Share the selected SKU, hardware version and intended use so the applicable AS/NZS evidence and marking route can be reviewed for that specific model.
No. They are separate import, regulatory and installation routes. The destination country, importer of record, applicable standards, building code entry, customs classification and GST obligations differ. Start each project brief by naming the country of first sale and the importer before selecting a product configuration.
The responsible party is determined by the deployment. The entity deciding why and how personal data — video footage, access logs, biometric credentials — is processed typically acts as the controller under the Australian Privacy Act or the NZ Privacy Act 2020. The property operator, body corporate, installer and platform provider roles must each be assessed for that project. Trudian can provide relevant technical information; the accountable project party makes the legal determination.
Identify the power source, backup arrangement and available connectivity before any networked model is reviewed. Offline credential methods, local storage, satellite or cellular network options, and the installer's service access window must be defined before a configuration can be assessed. Share the site conditions at the start of the project brief.
Standard supply starts at 200 units, OEM private label at 500 units and ODM custom hardware at 1,000 units. Product mix, pricing, production schedule and documentation scope are confirmed after the destination and product profile are defined.
