Opera Cloud (via OHIP API — Oracle certification available), Mews PMS (via Mews Connector marketplace), Cloudbeds, Apaleo, and any PMS supporting REST API or Wiegand 34 output. Custom PMS API integration is available in 6–8 weeks for proprietary or regional PMS systems not on the standard integration list. Integration enables automated key issuance at check-in, timed credential expiry at checkout, and remote credential revocation without front desk interaction.
Mifare Classic uses Crypto-1 encryption, which was cracked in 2008 and is cloneable with a 30 USD NFC reader in under 30 seconds — a significant security liability for hotel key systems. Mifare DESFire EV2 uses AES-128 encryption identical to banking card security, with no known practical attack. All M1-B units ship with Mifare DESFire EV2 by default. Hotels using Mifare Classic systems should plan migration to DESFire EV2 to eliminate guest room cloning risk.
BLE 5.0 mobile key: the PMS sends a cryptographic key token to the guest's smartphone app at check-in. The guest uses tap-to-open (holding phone near lock) or auto-unlock (automatic unlock within 1.5 metres as guest approaches). Physical RFID card and mobile key coexist simultaneously — no mode switching or front desk reconfiguration needed. Mobile key requires iOS 12 or Android 8 minimum. Guests who prefer physical cards receive a DESFire EV2 card at check-in as standard.
Fully offline operation — keys are cryptographically encoded at issue time and authenticate locally at the lock without any network connection required for door opening. 2,000 access log entries are stored locally in non-volatile flash memory and synced to the management platform when connectivity returns. Data is retained even with fully depleted batteries. Internet connectivity is only required for issuing new keys, revoking keys before scheduled expiry, syncing audit logs, and firmware updates.
Yes. OEM options include custom logo laser engraving on the lock body, branded key cards with hotel artwork, white-label mobile key SDK for iOS and Android (published under the hotel chain's App Store and Google Play developer accounts), and custom color finishes (satin gold, matte black, brushed nickel, or custom RAL color). MOQ 200 units for OEM branding. Mobile key SDK is included at no additional license fee for orders of 500 or more units. Custom PMS integration development is available for hotel chains with proprietary PMS systems.
CE marking (RED 2014/53/EU, RoHS 2011/65/EU) for European hotels, FCC Part 15 for US properties, UKCA for UK hotels, SASO CoC and CST type approval for Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 hospitality projects, and TDRA type approval for UAE hotel developments. EN 12209 Grade 3 mechanical performance certification for European fire door and insurance requirements. ISO 9001:2015 factory certification. Full certification documentation package is provided with B2B orders — hotels and developers can request documentation for building permit submissions and operator compliance requirements.
Battery life is approximately 18 months on 4x AA alkaline batteries at standard hotel usage of 15–30 cycles per day. Low battery alert is sent to the property management platform and displayed on the lock LED when battery reaches 20% capacity, allowing planned maintenance before lockout. Emergency external 9V power contact allows temporary operation if batteries are fully depleted. For high-traffic hotel corridor locks exceeding 50 cycles per day, quarterly battery inspection is recommended. The management platform provides per-lock battery status monitoring across all doors from a single dashboard.
